Jacking 3's

Jacking three pointers was the theme of this game. Florida made 10 of 15. The Hogs made 6 out of 21. Ferguson 1-7. Hunter 0-2 - what was he doing taking 3's so early in the shot clock? McCurdy 0-3. Ferguson basically shot us out of the game, going 2-13 overall, plus contributing 4 turnovers. The guards in general didn't work at all to get Modica involved in the offense - he had only 8 shot attempts.

The Hogs were outrebounded by 10, but made up for that in steals and turnovers. Brewer and Thomas had really good games. Hunter's minutes were pretty much wasted. Townes needed a kick in the rear, more post opportunities and more minutes. If Hill, Townes and Hunter don't start contributing again the Hogs stay in the big dance will be short.

Even though the Hogs had only 11 turnovers, several possessions were wasted by either hurried or unforced turnovers and quick shots.

So basically we lost this one like many of the early conference games. Jacking 3's and not taking the ball into the paint and getting to the free throw line. Still Florida had to shoot out of their minds to beat us by 3 points.

Sorry to see the streak end. These Hogs have been fighting hard.
