Houston Nutt Press Conference - 9/4/2005

U of A SID: Houston Nutt Press Conference Transcript
What the team will do to correct the turnovers:

"We're going to start today. The game really could have been put away very, very early. The way you do it is to sleep and eat with that ball. Starting today at practice we’re going to have a lot of scout teamers trying to poke and strip the ball away from them when they’re least expecting it. It can’t be a deal where they're always expecting it. They basically thought no one could take the ball from them. If you watch the film the ball is completely away from the body on two of the three fumbles. You have to be ball conscious. There’s nothing wrong with taking two hands when you’re in traffic to secure it."

On the defense:

"I thought the older guys, Pierre Brown, Sam Olajubutu and Clarke Moore played outstanding. I think each of them had one mistake all night long. Pierre had about 64 snaps, Sam has 57 and they were all over the field. We're going to move Clarke Moore up to first-team this week. We still need Weston Dacus to keep coming, but Clarke is doing more right now. What I respect about Clarke Moore is that he was basically fourth-team defense end and in the doghouse. He's a good person and has a great heart. That’s what hard work does and we're real proud of him."
